Active investors writing cheques at this stage, from the Cut Through Venture investor database.
This page lists investors from the Cut Through Venture investor database that lead or participate in Series A rounds for Australian startups, including local growth funds and international firms that regularly invest at this stage.
Series A has become the widest gap in the Australian funding ladder. The median Series A was $11.0M in 2025 per the State of Australian Startup Funding 2025, and $18.6M on a full-year view in the first half of 2026. Companies raising Series A are a median of 5.9 years old, and local cheque depth narrows from this stage onward, which is why 59% of founders now pursue both local and international investors. International participation is a real option, not a fallback.

View profileSeries A is the first institutional growth round, raised once a startup has repeatable revenue and a clear plan to scale. In Australia it is typically led by a local venture fund or an international firm, with existing seed investors following on.
The median Series A in Australia was $11.0M in 2025 and $18.6M on a full-year view in the first half of 2026, according to Cut Through Venture data. Companies raising Series A are a median of 5.9 years old, so the stage arrives later than many founders expect.
Both are realistic options. Local cheque depth narrows from Series A onward, and 59% of Australian founders now pursue local and international investors at the same time. This page lists both Australian funds and international firms that regularly lead or join Series A rounds here.
